As I was taking my son to school this morning I was listening to Klove ( it gets our day off to a great start!) I was listening to the song lyrics and they are just so uplifting and hopeful.
I think as I have gotten older I pay so much more attention to song lyrics.
Actually I just heard a song a week or so ago that I use to love when I was a teenager. I, of course, had to listen to it for old times sake. I am embarrassed to say what the song is, now that I know what the song is about! But I think I will for the point of this.. Nelly "ride wit me" and yes it is wit instead of with. My husband was with me and I was listening and being taken back to those times where me and my friend would "cruise" haha (gas was cheaper then) with this turned up loud. I heard a couple of the lyrics and when the bleeped out parts came up, I put 2 and 2 together and woah. I looked at my husband and was like "is that really what they just said?!" He nodded with the facial expression that basically said "did you not already know that? I, in obvious teenage naivete did NOT know that's what they were saying! I didn't care about lyrics! I liked a good beat.
Now that I am of a certain parental age and have my own kids, I realize the importance of these lyrics. The importance of what you put into your mind and how it shapes your worldview. Either towards or away from God. Music can either affirm your faith, your hope, your love for God, or it can turn it away, because I think we all can agree the popular music of our day is not exactly God-affirming. It is exactly the opposite.
So todays Seed of Hope, I give you the (IMO) most hopeful song on the radio. The song that when you hear it, you feel like God is saying "it's going to be okay! Its all going to work out!"
I hope this encourages you! I know it encourages me! Thank you for Visiting Seeds of Hope and Praise!!
